Radio Frequency (RF) /
Near Field Systems
Near Field Systems, also known as near field communication (NFC) technology, refers to a wireless communication method that enables short-range communication between devices. NFC technology works by establishing a radio frequency (RF) link between two devices that are in close proximity, typically within a few centimeters.
NFC technology operates on the same frequency as radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, which enables it to use existing RFID infrastructure for communication. However, NFC technology has a much shorter range than RFID, which makes it ideal for secure and private communication between devices in close proximity.
NFC technology is widely used in a variety of applications, including mobile payment systems, access control systems, and contactless ticketing systems. For example, many smartphones now incorporate NFC technology, allowing users to make payments or share data with other NFC-enabled devices simply by holding their phone close to the target device.
One of the key advantages of NFC technology is its ease of use. It does not require complex setup procedures or pairing processes, and it is intuitive and easy for users to understand. Additionally, NFC technology is highly secure, as the close proximity required for communication makes it difficult for hackers to intercept or access data.
